OUR STORY

Bridging the gap between vulnerability and strength

Asma’u and Hassan Foundation is an initiative established on the base of love for family and humanity. Asma’u and Hassan are siblings to Hussaina; the founder of the foundation, whom are all children of Engr. A Asule, The Executive Governor of Nasarawa state. After the unfortunate demise of Asma’u and Hassan, Hussaina, who happens to be a twin to the late Hassan found her world in shambles. The demise of her siblings left a void that could never be filled. After a long period of grieving and healing, Hussaina felt the only thing that could compensate her pain was to support, love and come to the aid of orphans, youths, widows and vulnerable people in the society; as kindness and generosity have always been a major stake in the lives of both Hussaina and her late siblings. The only way to keep the names of Hassan and Asma’u alive is to start a Non-Profit Organization dedicated to touching the lives of people

Project REEF

The project REEF is the implementation framework of the Asma’u and Hassan Foundation. It is the blueprint on which the foundation will focus and operate on..

R- REHABILITATE

This covers the section of the youths with addiction to drugs and other social vices. The foundation will work towards actualizing it’s vision of rehabilitating, reintegrating and empowering the concerned youths so as to make them self-sufficient, responsible and good ambassadors of their various communities. As a part of the foundation’s dedication to rehabilitate the affected youths, the foundation is currently working on constructing a world class rehabilitation centre in Nasarawa state.

E- EDUCATE

The foundation is dedicated to educating the young women, orphans and other vulnerable people across Nigeria. This will be done through provision of scholarships and partnership of the foundation with Primary, Secondary and Tertiary institutions across host communities. The foundation has so far donated hundreds of books, writing materials, school bags and sandals to orphanage homes with the aim of boosting their dedication to academic pursuit and to create an education friendly environment for the children

E- EMPOWER

The foundation will also focus on empowering people, especially vulnerable women in the society by providing them skills and the necessary tools and equipment they will need to become self-sufficient, self-reliant and financially independent. The foundation at it’s early stage has donated numerous grinding machines, sewing machines, make-up kits, salon equipment and pasta processing machines to women in Gudi community of Nasarawa state. The foundation has also disbursed funds ranging from Ten (10) to Twenty (20) thousand Naira to over 50 small scale traders in Keffi Local Government of Nasarawa state.

F- FEED

Food is the driving force of every living thing. The foundation is geared towards providing food especially to the numerous orphanage homes across Nigeria; as a lot of them are young and unable to work, earn and fend for themselves. The foundation does not limit its provision of food to orphanage homes alone. Vulnerable people, especially the old and weak are also considered in the foundation’s feeding project. Barely a week ago, the foundation has disbursed over 100 bags of 50kg rice and another 500 bags of 5kg rice to women across Nasarawa state. The foundation has also donated numerous bags of rice to various orphanage homes in Keffi and Lafia Local Government of Nasarawa state.
